I like the framing of the shot with Jay better and the colors are nicer on that one, I do prefer the sharpness in Pat's shot much better, but the centred look is killing it and the solar flare destroys the left of the frame. Nice work though! What were you using for flashes? Oh and check ya dust at the door, make sure the camera is turned of when you change lenses otherwise you could be looking at a costly sensor cleaning!!
